Frequently Asked Questions
Are my original image files uploaded online?
No, your images are never uploaded. This tool is completely private, and your files and data never leave your device. All editing and resizing happen locally, ensuring complete security.
What file formats does the Image Resizer support?
The resizer supports standard web image formats, including JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF. The output formats are kept matching the original formats, compressed at high quality.
Can I crop my images manually as well as using aspect ratio presets?
Yes! Select the "Free Crop" preset. This unlocks the bounding handles on the workspace, allowing you to drag the corners and borders manually to resize the crop box to any custom dimension.
How does the "Apply changes to all images" option work?
When checked, any adjustments made to the active image (e.g. selected aspect ratio preset, rotations, or flip scales) are replicated to all images in the queue. This is useful for batch-formatting a large set of photos identically.
What does the "One-Click Passport" preset do?
It locks the crop box aspect ratio to the standard passport configuration (7:9 ratio, corresponding to 35mm x 45mm dimensions). When processed, the tool automatically resizes your crop to the exact, crisp dimensions required for official passports (350x450 pixels).
Can I download my processed images as a single file?
Yes. If you process more than one image, a "Download All Processed" button appears upon completion. Clicking it bundles all your edited files into a single ZIP archive for a fast, unified download directly to your device.
Can I reset my changes back to original?
Yes! Clicking the "Reset Changes" button in the Transforms panel instantly clears all rotations, flips, aspect preset configurations, and cropping rectangles, returning the active image to its raw, unedited state.
Is there a resolution limit on the photos I can resize?
There are no artificial resolution limits. However, since all memory allocation and rendering are done locally in your browser context, processing extremely large images (e.g. 50 megapixel+ DSLR photos) requires corresponding browser heap memory.
